Texans Claim CB Al-Hajj Shabazz Off Waivers From Steelers

The Houston Texans have claimed CB Al-Hajj Shabazz off of waivers from the Steelers on Monday, according to John McClain.

Shabazz will replace CB Charles James, who was placed on waivers today.

Shabazz, 24, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of West Chester in July of last year but was waived as the team trimmed their roster down to 75 players.

The Steelers signed him to a future/reserve contract in February but was waived as the team got down to the 53-man limit. He was signed to the team’s practice squad after clearing waivers.

Shabazz has been on and off of the Steelers’ active roster but was cut loose this past weekend to make room for K Randy Bullock.
