Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Texans have agreed to a four-year deal with K Ka’imi Fairbairn on Tuesday.
According to Mike Garafolo, Fairbairn’s deal is a four-year, $17.65 million contract with $9 million fully guaranteed.
Fairbairn, 26, signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA in 2016. He played out the final year of his three-year, rookie contract when the Texans placed a second-round restricted tender on him last year.
Fairbairn made a base salary of $3.095 million for the 2020 season and was in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2019, Fairbairn appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and converted 20 of 25 field goal attempts (80 percent) to go along with 40 of 45 extra point tries (88.9 percent).
