The Houston Texans announced Wednesday that they’ve waived WR Devin Street with an injury designation and signed OLB Mike Catapano to a contract.
- The Texans also activated DE Joel Health from the non-football injury list.
Should Street pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Thursday.
Street, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2014. He spent just over two years in Dallas before he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
The Patriots signed Street to their practice squad at the start of last season but he lasted just a few weeks in New England. The Colts later added him to their active roster before cutting him loose shortly after this year’s draft.
The Patriots claimed him off of waivers a few months before cutting him loose soon after. Street caught on with the Jets in early June, but was waived back in July and later claimed off of waivers by the Texans.
In 2016, Street appeared in five games and caught one pass for 20 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Colts.
Catapano, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2013. He lasted a few years in Kansas City before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed on to the Jets’ practice squad.
In 2016, Catapano appeared in 11 games for the Jets and recorded four tackles.
