According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans worked out a number of players on Tuesday including RBs Jeremy Hill and Elijah McGuire.
Wilson adds Hill’s workout went very well but he’s not being immediately signed by Houston.
Hill, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3,753,602 contract before agreeing to a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Patriots last March.
Unfortunately, Hill suffered a torn ACL in Week 1 that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
For his career, Hill has rushed for 2,898 yards on 708 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with 68 receptions for 490 yards receiving and 30 total touchdowns over the course of five seasons and 55 games.
McGuire, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jets back in 2017. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2.66 million contract when the Jets waived him coming out of the preseason.
The Browns signed McGuire to their practice squad and promoted him last month before being waived and re-signed to their taxi squad. Cleveland cut him loose a few weeks ago.
In 2018, McGuire appeared in eight games for the Jets and rushed for 276 yards on 92 carries (3 YPC) to go along with 19 receptions for 193 yards receiving and four total touchdowns.
