Texans WR Will Fuller Out In Week 17 With Groin Injury, Could Also Miss Wildcard Game

According to Ian Rapoport, Texans WR Will Fuller has a groin injury that will keep him out at least for Houston’s Week 17 game against the Titans and could be as long as a three-week injury.

Aaron Wilson confirms the report and that Fuller is in jeopardy of missing the Texans’ first-round playoff game in two weeks. Houston is locked into playing on Wildcard Weekend, likely as the No. 4 seed.

Fuller has already missed four games this season with a hamstring injury. While he’s out of the lineup, Texans WRs Kenny Stills, Keke Coutee and DeAndre Carter will be charged with picking up the slack.

Fuller, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Texans back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $10.164 million contract and stood to make a base salary of $1.83 million for the 2019 season when the Texans exercised his fifth-year option this offseason.

This will cost the Texans around $10.1 million, but is guaranteed for injury only and won’t prevent them from working on an extension over the next year.

In 2019, Fuller has appeared in 11 games for the Texans and caught 49 passes for 670 yards and three touchdowns.
