Titans Officially Release S Jonathan Cyprien

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Tennessee Titans have officially released S Johnathan Cyprien.

The move was expected, and comes shortly after the announcement that the Titans would bring back S Kenny Vaccaro on a four-year deal.

Cyprien missed the entire 2018 season after suffering a torn ACL last summer.

Cyprien, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $5,469,104 contract with the Jaguars before signing a four-year, $25 million contract with the Titans last year.

Cyprien was set to make base salaries of $4.5 million and $5.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Cyprien will free up $4.75 million of available cap space while creating $1.5 million in dead money.

In 2017, Cyprien appeared in 10 games for the Titans and recorded 57 tackles, one sack, no interceptions and a pass defense.
