Titans Veteran OLB Brian Orakpo Retiring From NFL

On Monday Titans veteran OLB Brian Orakpo announced that he’s retiring from the NFL, per Jim Wyatt.

Orakpo explained that he wanted to be able to walk away from the game healthy.

“Your body starts talking to you as you get older and this time I started listening,” Orakpo said, per Turron Davenport.

Orakpo, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Redskins back in 2009. He spent six years in Washington before signing a four-year, $32 million contract that included $13.5 million with the Titans back in 2015.

Orakpo was in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

For his career, Orakpo recorded 425 tackles, 66 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, four recoveries, one interception, 31 pass defenses and one defensive touchdown over the course of 10 seasons and 132 games.
