Tom Cable Expected To Get Serious Consideration For Colts’ HC Job If Available

Mike Silver of NFL Media reports that if the Colts end up firing HC Chuck Pagano next week, as many expect, Seahawks OL coach Tom Cable is expected to get serious consideration for their head-coaching job.

Cable has come as a head-coaching candidate in recent years, so it won’t be surprising to see him interview for a few positions.

Cable, 53, began his NFL coaching career with the Falcons back in 2006 as an offensive line coach. He departed after one season in Atlanta to become the Raiders offensive line coach before he was promoted to head coach in 2008.

Cable was fired after three seasons before agreeing to join the Seahawks as their assistant head coach/offensive line coach.

During his three years as the Raiders’ head coach, Cable led them to a record of 17-27 (38.6) and no playoff appearances.
