Adam Schefter reports that the Redskins are trading TE Derek Carrier to the Rams.
- According to John Keim, the Redskins receive a 2018 seventh-round pick for Carrier.
Carrier, 27, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Beloit College back in 2012. He spent a year with the Eagles before joining the 49ers at the start of the 2013 season. Carrier was later traded to Redskins in a deal that sent a 2017 conditional fifth round pick to San Francisco.
He’s entering the final year of his three-year, $2.985 million contract that included a $400,000 signing bonus. Carrier will make a base salary of $950,000 for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Carrier appeared in eight games for the Redskins and caught two passes for 10 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
