According to Ian Rapoport, the Saints are trading P Kai Kroeger to the Texans on Tuesday.
New Orleans receives a sixth-round pick in 2028 in return, while Houston will get a 2028 seventh-round pick in addition to Kroeger.
Kroeger, 23, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina in May of last year. He was cut by New York in training camp, and he caught on with the Saints soon after.
He wound up cracking New Orleans’ active roster coming out of the preseason and won the starting punter job.
In 2025, Kroeger appeared in all 17 games for the Saints and recorded 56 punt attempts for 2,511 yards (44.8 avg), with 18 landing inside the 20-yard line.
