Vikings Activate QB Taylor Heinicke From NFI List, Waive TE MyCole Pruitt

The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday that they’ve activated QB Taylor Heinicke from the non-football-injury list and waived TE MyCole Pruitt.

Heinicke, 21, wound up signing on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Old Dominion back in May of last year. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season but wasn’t active for a single game.

The Vikings wound up placing him on the non-football injury list at the start of the season with an ankle injury.

Heinicke has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Pruitt, 24, was taken in the fifth-round of last year’s NFL draft. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.51 million contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Pruitt appeared in two games and caught one pass for seven yards receiving and no touchdowns.
