Vikings & Dalvin Cook Expected To Discuss Long-Term Extension This Offseason

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings and RB Dalvin Cook‘s agent are expected to discuss an extension this offseason.

While there’s no guarantee that they’ll get an agreement in place, Rapoport says Minnesota would like to ensure Cook remains with the Vikings long term.

Rapoport mentions that this contract could end up being the biggest Vikings deal since Adrian Peterson signed a $100 million contract several years ago.

Cook, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Vikings back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $6.35 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.13 million for the 2020 season.

In 2019, Cook has appeared in 14 games for the Vikings and rushed for 1,135 yards on 250 carries (4.5 YPC) with 13 touchdowns to go along with 53 receptions for 519 yards receiving.

We’ll have more regarding Cook and the Vikings as the news is available.
