The Minnesota Vikings announced Saturday that they’ve promoted CB Cordrea Tankersley to their active roster and signed K Taylor Bertolet to their practice squad.
Vikings K Dan Bailey has struggled in recent weeks, so it appears as though Minnesota plans to have a backup option should that continue.
Tankersley, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $3.17 million rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $673,000 for the 2020 season when he was waived.
The Dolphins placed Tankersley on the PUP list coming out of the preseason last year with a knee injury and later declined to activate him from the list. Miami ultimately waived him in July but re-signed him to their practice squad this past September.
The Vikings signed Tankersley to their practice squad last week.
In 2018, Tankersley appeared in six games for the Dolphins and recorded five tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
