Giants Likely To Hire Vikings QBs Coach Kevin Stefanski As Offensive Coordinator

A source tells Alex Marvez of the Sporting News that Vikings QBs coach Kevin Stefanski will either be promoted to offensive coordinator in Minnesota or depart to be the Giants’ new offensive coordinator under Pat Shurmur.

Marvez says that Stefanski is the top target for the Giants’ offensive coordinator job. However, the Vikings will not release him from his contract unless they’re able to reach an agreement with Eagles QBs coach John DeFilippo.

If the Giants miss out on Stefanski, sources have told Marvez that Eagles RBs coach Duce Staley would become the frontrunner for New York’s offensive coordinator vacancy.

Stefanski, 35, began his NFL coaching career as an operations intern with the Eagles back in 2005. He was later hired by the Vikings as an assistant to head coach a year later.

Stefanski had held a number of positions with the Vikings including TEs coach and RBs coach before he was promoted to QBs coach last year.

We’ll have more regarding Stefanski as the news is available.
