Vikings Re-Signing CB Terence Newman To A One-Year, $3M Deal

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the Vikings and veteran CB Terence Newman have agreed to a one-year deal worth $3 million.

Recent reports had said that the two parties were continuing to discuss a new contract, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Newman, 37, is a former first-round pick of the 2003. He spent nine years in Dallas before catching on with the Bengals in 2012. After three years with the Bengals, the Vikings signed him to a one-year contract.

In 2015, Newman appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and recorded 62 tackles, three interceptions, and 12 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 39 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
