Vikings Sign RB Stevan Ridley

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings have signed veteran RB Stevan Ridley to a contract on Thursday after he recently worked out for the team.

Minnesota just lost dynamic rookie RB Dalvin Cook for the season, so it makes sense that they would bring in a running back.

Ridley, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract before signing a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Jets back in April of 2015.

Ridley would later join the Lions last year and had a brief stint with the Colts before signing on with the Falcons last October. Unfortunately, he was cut loose after another just a month or so in Atlanta.

The Broncos signed Ridley to a contract at the start of training camp but he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Ridley appeared in one game for the Falcons and recorded just seven yards on three carries.
