The Washington Football Team announced that they’ve placed S Landon Collins on Injured Reserve with a torn Achilles Tuesday.
Washington also promoted S Jeremy Reaves to their active roster.
Collins suffered what looked like a non-contact injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Cowboys and was later carted off the field.
Reports later said that Collins was feared to have a torn Achilles so this isn’t a big surprise.
Collins, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $6.12 million rookie contract before agreeing to a six-year, $84 million deal with Washington that includes $45 million guaranteed.
Collins stands to make a base salary of $10,000,000 in 2020 and another $12.5 million in 2021.
In 2020, Collins appeared in seven games for Washington and recorded 41 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, an interception and a pass defense.
