X-Rays Come Back Negative For Jets RB Shonn Greene

During last nights loss to the Denver Broncos, Jets RB Shonn Greene was forced to leave the game early on after suffering an injury to his ribs. They were already with LaDainian Tomlinson so it put a lot of pressure on Joe McKnight and Bilal Powell to handle the running game without them.

Kevin Armstrong of the New York Daily News writes that Greene’s x-rays came back negative which is good news for the Jets and Greene.

I felt alright, but Joe [McKnight] and Bilal [Powell] were going good,” said Greene.

The Jets running game wasn’t exactly amazing with Greene but then again they haven’t been much better with him. The “ground and pound” offense doesn’t appear to working as well as Rex Ryan was hoping that it would and their quarterback continues to struggle moving the ball through the air. New York is sitting at 5-5 which affords them very little room for error down the stretch. 10 wins should guarantee a team a spot in the playoffs but it will be tough for the Jets to win 5 of 6.
