Todd Archer reports that the Dallas Cowboys have signed seven players to future/reserve contracts on Monday including WR K.D. Cannon and S Jameill Showers.

- WR K.D. Cannon
- S Jameill Showers
- DT Joe Vellano
- OT Jarron James
- RB Trey Williams
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Cannon, 22, signed on with the 49ers as a priority free agent out of Baylor shortly after this year’s draft. The 49ers actually gave Cannon a $45,000 signing bonus as part of his deal but later elected to move on from him after just a few days.
Cannon would up being claimed by the Jets, but he was once again cut him loose soon after. He had a brief stint with the Rams during the preseason. The Cowboys signed him to their practice squad last week.
During his three-year college career at Baylor, Cannon recorded 195 receptions for 3,113 yards receiving and 27 touchdowns. He also totaled three rushing attempts for 14 rushing yards (4.7 YPC).
