Jaguars Sign K Mike Meyers To Practice Squad, Release OL Brandon Thomas

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Thursday that they’ve signed K Mike Meyer to their practice squad and released OL Brandon Thomas from the unit.

The Jaguars’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. RB Tim Cook (Injured)
  2. DE Hunter Dimick
  3. OL Avery Gennesy (Injured)
  4. TE David Grinnage
  5. OLB Carroll Phillips
  6. DT Darius Kilgo
  7. RB Brandon Wilds
  8. DB Charlie Miller
  9. WR Montay Crockett
  10. LB Brooks Ellis
  11. WR Jaelen Strong
  12. K Mike Meyers

Meyer, 25, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa back in 2015. He was unable to make the Titans’ 53-man roster and wound up sitting out both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

The Falcons signed him to a future/reserve contract this past January but was once again cut loose coming out of the preseason. Atlanta brought him back for a brief stint last month.

During his college career at Iowa, Meyer converted 45 of 58 field goal attempts (77.6 percent) and 100 of 102 extra point tries over the course of four seasons and 51 games.
