Latest On Teams Possibily Relocating To Los Angeles

Jason La Canfora reports that there are “at least” two NFL teams seriously exploring moves to Los Angeles in time for the 2015 season.

According to La Canfora, those teams consist of the Rams and Raiders. However, only one of them would be able to play at the “preferred” interim location – the Rose Bowl.

La Canfora mentions that even with changes being made by the Pasadena government that has increased the number of allowed games to be played at the Rose Bowl, it would not be feasible for two teams to play there for a few years while they sort out their respective long-term situations.

La Canfora has spoken to some within the NFL that believe it would be best for two teams to relocate to Los Angeles at the same time given that they would share the risk and rewards that would come from the stadium development process.

Another stadium option for one of the two teams could be the Los Angeles Coliseum.

NFL teams considering the possibility of relocating would need to file their paperwork regarding their formal intent to move by February.

The Rams and Raiders are both in year-to-year leases, which is less than an ideal situation from the NFL’s perspective.

I’m sure we’ll be hearing much more about this topic in the next few months.
