Eagles

“When I’m out there, I’m productive,” Hicks said, via Philly.com.For me, it’s stay healthy, play your game, and let it happen. I don’t have a problem or any question in my mind that if I’m healthy, I’m going to be productive. It’s just a matter of staying on the field.

  • Regarding the team’s No. 32 overall pick, Eagles GM Howie Roseman said: “We’re open for business.” (Jeff McLane)
  • It’s worth mentioning that the Eagles are currently without second- and third-round picks, it a trade out of round one is something to watch.
  • As for the team’s decision to recently cut CB Daryl Worley following his arrest, Roseman said: “We did a lot of legwork on it. It’s hard to predict incidents like this. But we did do a lot of background on him and we had background from 2016. We just felt like, going forward, this was best interest of our football team.” (Zach Berman)

Giants

  •  On Thursday, Giants GM Dave Gettleman was asked how close they are to a final decision regarding their No. 2 overall pick: “You can’t close your mind. You don’t know what’s gonna happen. Listen, we’ll know when we know. I’m not making any decisions before that.” (Art Stapleton)
  • Gettleman reiterated that drafting the wrong quarterback is a “five-year mistake“: “When you miss on a QB, you screw the franchise for five years. It’s a five year mistake. If you ask the right questions, you’ll get the right answer.” (Matt Lombardo)
  • Gettleman spoke very highly of Penn State RB Saquon Barkley: “He’s a tremendous talent. He’s one of those guys my mother could have scouted. She could’ve figured it out.” (Ralph Vacchiano)
  • According to Gettleman, they’re “open to everything” when it comes to trading out of the No. 2 pick. “We’ve had calls.” (Matt Lombardo)
  • As for WR Odell Beckham Jr., Gettleman said: “He’s on our football team. He’s a valued member of our football team.” (Matt Lombardo)
  • Regarding the possibility of trading up, Gettleman said: “I have no intention of trading future draft picks to move up in this draft. None.” (Matt Lombardo)
  • Kimberly A. Martin reports that WR Brandon Marshall actually agreed to a pay cut to be back with the Giants before they released him on Thursday.
