The Panthers announced that they have promoted DE Larry Webster to their active roster.
- According to Joe Person, the Panthers are promoting Webster in case DE Charles Johnson, who is listed as questionable with a quadriceps injury, is unable to play during Week 4.
Webster, 26, is a former fourth-round pick by the Lions of the 2014 NFL Draft. He completed one year of a four-year, $2,520,584 rookie contract when he was waived by Detroit as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit.
The Panthers signed Webster to a future/reserve contract back in January.
He has yet to appear during an NFL game.
