The Oakland Raiders officially signed DB Shaquille Richardson to a futures contract for the 2018 season on Tuesday.
As of now, the Raiders have signed 10 players to futures deals including:
- DE Fadol Brown
- WR Keon Hatcher
- CB Darius Hillary
- RB Elijah Hood
- CB Tevin Mitchel
- LS Bradley Northnagel
- DE Joby Saint Fleur
- G Jordan Simmons
- DT Shakir Soto
- DB Shaquille Richardson
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Richardson, 25, was taken in the fifth-round of last year’s draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He lasted just over a year in Pittsburgh before he was cut before the 2015 draft.
Richardson later caught on with the Cardinals and Titans before signing with the Panthers in May of 2016. Unfortunately, he was cut loose a few months later.
Richardson has yet to appear in an NFL game.
