49ers DE Glenn Dorsey Out For Season With Torn ACL

Update:

Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that 49ers DE Glenn Dorsey does, in fact, have a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2015 season.

——–

49ers HC Jim Tomsula told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks that they fear DE Glenn Dorsey suffered a torn ACL during the game, per Matt Maiocco.

Dorsey will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury, but it clearly doesn’t sound good for him.

Earlier on in the first quarter, Dorsey went down with the injury and was carted to the locker room, so it was clear that this could be a serious issue for him.

Dorsey, 30, second year of his three-year, $6.075 million contract that included a $2.075 signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $1.5 million this season and another $1.8 million next year.

This season, Dorsey has recorded 18 tackles and no sacks for the 49ers’ defense over the course of nine games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 49 defensive end in a 3-4 defense out of 57 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Dorsey’s injury as the news is available.
