Browns Place G Joel Bitonio On Season-Ending I.R.

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Browns have placed OL Joel Bitonio on season-ending injured reserve Monday to make room for C Gabe Ikard, who was claimed off of waivers.

Bitonio, 24, was taken in the second round of last year’s NFL draft. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $5.461 million rookie contract that included $3.7 million guaranteed.

Bitonio will make a base salary of $668,259 this season and another $916,518 (2016) and $1,164,777 (2017).

This season, Bitonio appeared in 10 games for the Browns and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 39 guard out of 82 qualifying players.
