NFL Notes: Mike Pettine, Cardale Jones, Buccaneers, & Jaguars

Mike Pettine

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Browns HC Mike Pettine asked owner Jimmy Haslam to tell him whether he’d be back following Sunday’s season finale or not, but Haslam refused to answer.

Pettine actually asked him, ‘Have you made a decision about my future?’ And Haslam would not answer, and that essentially ended that meeting,” Rapoport said, via Pro Football Talk.

Cardale Jones

Buccaneers

  • Greg Auman mentions that it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Buccaneers sign OT Reid Fragel, who was cut by the Chiefs on Saturday, to a future/reserve contract next week.

Jaguars

Jaguars impending free agent C Steven Wisniewski says that he’s “open to anything” this offseason.

“I’m open to anything,” Wisniewski said, via Vito Stellino of the Florida Times Union. “It’s a crazy business. You never know what is going to happen. I’ll take it as it goes.
