AFC East Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Patriots

Bills

• The Buffalo Bills officially ruled out LB Julian Stanford (ankle) and WR Deonte Thompson (toe) for Week 17 and list RB Chris Ivory (shoulder) and CB Ryan Lewis (concussion) as questionable.

Dolphins

• Mike Florio, citing a league source, reports that Vikings assistant GM George Patton and Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen are among those who could interview for the Dolphins if they part ways with Mike Tannenbaum in the coming days.
• Dolphins DE Cameron Wake said Friday that he wants to play next season and prefers to remain in Miami. Wake added that he assumes the Dolphins want him back and it’s fine if he is not a starter. (Barry Jackson)
• The Miami Dolphins officially list S T.J. McDonald (ankle) as doubtful and LB Kiko Alonso (knee, hamstring), DE Andre Branch (knee), DE Ziggy Hood (hamstring), and CB Xavien Howard (knee) as questionable for Week 17.

Jets

• Cimini thinks the Jets should make a serious run at signing RB Le’Veon Bell to improve QB Sam Darnold‘s supporting cast, even though it will cost them around $60 million over five years.
• One area the Jets should consider overhauling, according to Cimini, is their interior offensive line and mentions Chiefs C Mitch Morse as someone to target in free agency.
• Cimini would place DL Leonard Williams on the trading block this offseason, considering that he’s set to earn $14.2 million in 2019 and his production hasn’t lived up to that price tag.
• The Jets will need to bolster their pass rush, and there should be some appealing options in free agency such as Dante Fowler Jr, who was linked to New York leading up to the trade deadline. Cimini also tosses out Clelin Ferrell and Josh Allen as draft targets in round one.
• The last area Cimini believes the Jets need to focus on this offseason is at receiver, given that they could use a third receiver. Cimini would call the Bengals about A.J. Green and consider options in the draft, as the free agent market will be limited.
• The New York Jets officially ruled out CB Morris Claiborne (shoulder, ankle), WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle), WR Jermaine Kearse (achilles), and LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder) for Week 17 and list LB Jordan Jenkins (ankle) as questionable.

Patriots

• The New England Patriots officially ruled out TE Jacob Hollister (hamstring) for Week 17 and list TE Dwayne Allen (knee), LB Brandon King (knee), WR Cordarrelle Patterson (knee), and T LaAdrian Waddle (illness) as questionable.
