The San Francisco 49ers have begun the process of trimming their roster down to 75 players. Here’s the full list of roster cuts up to this point:
- OL Erik Pears
- TE Busta Anderson
- LB Jason Fanaika
Other roster moves include:
- WR Bruce Ellington (Injured Reserve)
Pears, 34, was entering the final year of a two-year, $4.7 million contract that contained $1 million guaranteed and a $500,000 signing bonus. He was set to make a base salary of $1.45 million for 2016, while also having a $200,000 roster bonus.
In 2015, Pears appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and appeared in 1,037 total snaps. Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 71 overall guard out of 81 qualifiers.
