49ers Brought In ILB Desmond Bishop For A Tryout

Howard Balzer reports that the San Francisco 49ers brought in veteran LB Desmond Bishop for a tryout on Monday.

The Arizona Cardinals waived Bishop a couple of weeks ago. Since then, he has worked out for the Cincinnati Bengals, but they elected to not sign him.

Bishop, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Packers. He spent five years with Green Bay and helped them win a Super Bowl before he suffered a serious hamstring injury that cost him the 2012 season.

Bishop later caught on with the Vikings, but unfortunately suffered a torn ACL and was placed on season-ending injured reserve.

He hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since last year.
