49ers Release CB Shareece Wright, Promote G Andrew Tiller

The San Francisco 49ers announced the release of CB Shareece Wright on Saturday, as well as the promotion of G Andrew Tiller to their active roster.

Recent reports had said that Wright was looking to either be traded or released, so it appears as though he finally got his wish.

Wright expressed frustration after he was inactive for the 49ers’ Week 3 game, tweeting “politics as usual” before deleting the post.

Wright, 28, signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the 49ers back in March that included another $1 million available through incentives. He was set to make a base salary of $850,000 for the 2015 season.

Wright has yet to be active for a single game this season.

In 2014, Wright appeared in 14 games and recorded 60 tackles and 10 pass defenses for the Chargers. However, he has yet to appear in a game this season.

  1. THE INCONVENIENT TRUTH: What was the point of these transactions? Why would Baalke sign Wright and not play him? And if Tiller is good, why was he not playing? Hum..

  2. 49er players speak highly of Tiller, play him as the right guard play is abysmal by its current starter.
Wright is a real Pro – play me or dump me, you can not fault his logic & there is no way he would have seen action this season barring significant injuries
