49ers Sign CB Shareece Wright To A One-Year, $3M Deal

The San Francisco 49ers announced Saturday that they’ve signed CB Shareece Wright to a one-year contract.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Wright’s deal is worth $3 million and has a chance to increase to $4 million.

The 49ers hosted Wright for a visit on Friday and recently lose cornerbacks Chris Culliver to the Redskins and Perrish Cox to the Titans, so they were clearly in need of some help at corner.

Wright, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Chargers back in 2011. He played out his four-year, $2,584,140 contract that included $544,140 guaranteed before reaching the open market a few days ago.

In 2014, Wright appeared in 14 games and recorded 60 tackles and 10 pass defenses for the Chargers. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 105 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
