49ers Sign S Jaquiski Tartt To Two-Year Extension

The San Francisco 49ers announced Friday that they’ve signed S Jaquiski Tartt to a two-year contract extension through the 2020 season.

  • According to Adam Caplan, Tartt receives a two-year extension worth $13 million that can be worth up $15 million with incentives.

Since we arrived last year, Jaquiski has impressed us with his play, his work ethic and the kind of teammate he is,” said General Manager John Lynch. “We believe he’s a natural fit in our defensive system, and his abilities will allow him to flourish. It is always exciting when we are able to extend our own young players like Jaquiski who are dedicated to their craft, this team and our community.”

Tartt, 26, is a former second-round pick of the 49ers back in 2015. He was in the final year of his four-year, $5.037 million contract and set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Tartt appeared in nine games and recorded 55 tackles, a half sack, an interception and three pass defenses for the 49ers. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 15 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
