AFC East Notes: Bills, Patriots, Julian Edelman

Bills

The Bills would like to increase the number of short throws in their offense for QB Josh Allen to make and GM Brandon Beane added that they will “try and evolve the offense” to make this happen.

“We love his aggressiveness,” Beane said, via Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News. “He thinks he can make any throw, and he can physically, but sometimes that’s not the smart play. I think that’s what Josh is learning. That’s natural. He’s so competitive that he wants to pick up that first down now, and sometimes it’s OK to take the swing pass for 5 yards and get it to second and 5, instead of a harder throw 18 yards down the field in a tight window that has a 50-50 chance and now it’s second and 10.

Julian Edelman

Patriots WR Julian Edelman was asked by Peter King about his suspension and whether he felt that it was unjust.

“I’m not going down that road,” Edelman said. “I served what I had to serve and I accept that. I know a lot of people were disappointed in me for it. I apologize. It’ll never happen again.”
