AFC Notes: Broncos, Ravens, Steelers, Texans

Broncos

Ravens

  • According to Ravens HC John Harbaugh, there’s no significant update on WR Jeremy Maclin. However, Harbaugh added that Maclin is a quick healer and he has a chance to play on Sunday against the Bengals. (Jeff Zrebiec)

Steelers

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin was asked about the recent decision to cut veteran OLB James Harrison last weekend.

“I’m not speculating, guys. … It’s just life in football. Sometimes you’ve got to make tough decisions,” Tomlin said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.”

We have Harrison featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.

Texans

On Monday, Texans OL David Quessenberry saw his first game action since he was diagnosed with cancer three years ago.

“It was everything I dreamed of while I was going through my treatments,” Quessenberry said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “Playing a full-speed game was exactly how I’d hoped it went. I would say it was very emotional for me and the people around me and for my family watching. It was just something special.”

“I had butterflies when they called my personnel running out there and getting down in my stance,” Quessenberry added. “Once I started hearing the quarterback’s cadence, instincts take over and you go make your blocks.”
