AFC Notes: Browns, Jets, Patriots

Browns

Jets

Manish Mehta reports that Jets third-round OL Chuma Edoga is expected to start against the Eagles at right tackle, replacing Brandon Shell.

Jets HC Adam Gase said earlier in the week that they planned on considering some changes to their offensive line.

“I feel like this week has been a really good week of practice for all those guys,” Gase said of the offensive linemen. “They’ve been doing a great job as far as when we’re moving guys around and we’re trying some different guys in some different spots. I feel like the execution has been good in practice. I feel like the energy levels been really good in practice. I feel like the communication as far as what’s going on the field, coming back to the sideline, all those little things that you need to do to make improvement. I feel like guys are trending in the right direction. We’re going to have a hard test and we’ll see how this carries over to Sunday.

Patriots

  • According to Field Yates, Patriots TE Benjamin Watson will not travel with the team for their Week 5 game against the Jets. New England has until Monday to activate Watson.
  • The Patriots officially ruled out RB Rex Burkhead (foot), S Patrick Chung (heel), and DB Nate Ebner (groin) from Sunday’s Week 5 game.
  • Patriots WR Julian Edelman (chest) and ILB Dont’a Hightower (shoulder) traveled with the team to their Week 5 game against the Redskins. (Doug Kyed)
