AFC Notes: Colts, Jets, Titans

Colts

  • Colts QB Andrew Luck was seen throwing a football during Tuesday’s practice for the first time since October of last year.
  • Luck said Tuesday that his goal is to be ready for the start of training camp and confirmed he’s been throwing a football: “I’ve thrown an NFL football, the Duke, and it felt great.” (Zak Keefer)
  • Luck admitted that this year he’s dealing with soreness after throwing as opposed to pain. (Andrew Siciliano)
  • As for playing Week 1, Luck said: “Absolutely. No knock on wood. I believe it in my bones.” (Kevin Bowen)
  • Colts HC Frank Reich confirmed that Luck will play in the preseason. (Kevin Bowen)
  • Team owner Jim Irsay told reporters that he believes Luck will have “no limitations” when training camp starts in roughly seven weeks. (Zak Keefer)
  • Irsay added that those working with Luck have said that he’s in incredible physical shape and have compared him to LeBron James in terms of body fat. Irsay did acknowledge that Luck will need some rest days moving forward. (Kevin Bowen)

Jets

  • Jets HC Todd Bowles said there is no timetable for when WR Terrelle Pryor will get the boot removed from his leg. According to Bowles, Pryor is a “50-50″ to start training camp on time. (Calvin Watkins)

Texans

  • Texans third-round OT Martinas Rankin suffered a foot injury during rookie minicamp and recently underwent surgery, according to HC Bill O’Brien. However, Rankin is expected to be ready for the regular season. (John McClain)
