Broncos
Broncos DL Zach Allen said during training camp that he thinks the team can break the NFL record for most sacks by a team in a single season after finishing with 68 in 2025. Broncos DL D.J. Jones also feels they can reach the mark this year, set by the Bears in 1984 at 72.
“We can break it. We can break the record,” Jones said, via Pro Football Talk. “What is that, 72? Yeah, we can break it.”
“We got what it takes,” Jones continued. “We’ve tasted it. Now it’s time to cook the meal, eat it and take a break. You know how you eat a good meal, and you lay down after, take a good nap, and you wake up and go eat again? We’re about to eat again. It’s time. We got the numbers, we got the men, we got the willpower, we’ve got free will to go do it. So, it’s up to us, and we’re going to do that…Bo got knocked down, but we play physical. You can’t slow down for nobody. It got quiet. It got quiet real quick. Everybody stopped. But he was just doing his job.”
- Broncos LB Justin Strnad says OLB Que Robinson has more potential to unlock: “I’m assuming his eyes are looking at Bonitto and Cooper’s contracts, and seeing what the future holds for him if he could be a great player down the road.” (Evans)
Chiefs
It appears that undrafted Indiana OL Kahlil Benson will be the Chiefs’ starting right tackle and has received praise from LT Josh Simmons and HC Andy Reid.
“I think Kahlil is doing a great job. I think he’s a very physical player. I think he should just add on to that,” Simmons said, via KQTV. “I think you can’t really teach effort. I mean, that’s what he’s giving out there, so that’s really all I’m telling him right now is keep doing that effort. I think you let them compete and see where it goes. Both of them can play. We’ve just got a young guy that we haven’t seen too much, but he has some talent. Let’s see where that goes. And Moore keeps battling. He’s had a couple of good days, too. We’ll need all of them. That’s how it goes.”
- Reid on Benson at guard: “I thought he did OK. There were a couple of hiccups… Things move a little faster inside… I thought he held his own, physically. There are a couple of things he’s got to pick up from there.” (Goldman)
Raiders
Raiders HC Klint Kubiak answered questions surrounding a scuffle between QB Kirk Cousins and DE Maxx Crosby that saw the two held out of the following practice, noting that it was just another day at an NFL training camp.
“Yeah, that’s training camp,” Kubiak said in his press conference. “Those are two leaders of our team going at it. So, that is part of camp. Obviously, you fight in a game, you throw a punch in the game, especially, then you’re out of the game. So, we’ve got to be smart, treat it like a game.”
