AFC Notes: Ravens, Steelers, Texans

Ravens

Steelers

  • Mark Kaboly of the Athletic expects Steelers first-round LB Devin Bush to start from Week 1.
  • Kaboly says WR Ryan Switzer has impressed as a slot receiver and is ahead of WR Eli Rogers for that spot.
  • The Steelers have worked sixth-round rookie LB Sutton Smith at fullback at times during the spring as a way to ensure they can find a roster spot for him.

Texans

  • According to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, Texans CB Bradley Roby chose the Texans in free agency over offers from the Steelers and the 49ers.
  • The Texans gave him a one-year, $10 million deal with $9.5 million guaranteed, while the Steelers offered a three-year, $30 million deal and the 49ers offer was for one year and $9 million.
  • Roby and Texans second-round CB Lonnie Johnson Jr. were sidelined for most of spring practices with soft tissue injuries. Both are expected back for training camp.
