AFC West Notes: Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders

Broncos

Chargers

  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Chargers WR Keenan Allen suffered a hip pointer during Thursday’s win over the Chiefs.
  • According to Rapoport, Allen has structural damage and nothing that will affect him long-term. However, he could miss some time, but it’s unlikely to be an extended absence.

Chiefs

Chiefs S Eric Berry made his season debut on Thursday and played the entire first half. However, he was held for the remainder of the game.

Berry explained that this was the plan for him all along.

“We just wanted to be smart about the whole situation,” Berry said, via ESPN.com. “We came in with a plan and we just stuck with it. We didn’t want to push it past that. That was between me and [Reid]. We just talked about it and felt I was good where I was at.”

Raiders

Former Raiders WR Amari Cooper says owner Mark Davis ultimately made the decision to trade him.

They were getting calls about a first for next year and they weren’t going to do it,” Cooper said, via Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram. “But when [Cowboys owner] Jerry Jones called about a first for this year he felt he had no choice.
