Antoine Bethea Interested In Re-Signing With The Colts

According to Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star, impending free agent S Antoine Bethea has expressed a desire to re-sign with the Colts.

However, Holder adds that Bethea is taking a “noncommittal approach” regarding his options this offseason, which could be an indication that he’s willing to leave if the circumstance aren’t right.

Bethea, 29, is finishing up the final year of his four-year, $27 million contract he signed with the Colts back in 2010.

Holder mentions that Bethea is a similar player to LaRon Landry, so there is a chance that the Colts could allow him to sign elsewhere and then move Landry to strong safety where he may be better suited.

Bethea graded out as a below average safety, according to Pro Football Focus. Although he has produced at 90 tackles in six of his seven years in the NFL with five of them eclipsing 100 tackles.

We have Bethea listed as the No. 99 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
