Bears Sign TE Trey Burton To Four-Year, $32M Deal

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Bears are expected to sign Eagles free agent TE Trey Burton. Ian Rapoport adds that Burton receives a four-year, $32 million contract from Chicago.

Burton, 26, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2014. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season and played out his three-year, $1,537,500 contract with the Eagles before returning to Philadelphia on a one-year restricted deal last year.

In 2017, Burton appeared in 15 games for the Eagles and caught 23 passes for 248 yards receiving and five touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 29 tight end out of 63 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
