Bears Re-Sign LB Danny Trevathan To Three-Year, $21.75M Extension

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bears have agreed to terms with LB Danny Trevathan on a three-year extension.

Rapoport adds that Trevathan’s three-year deal is worth $21.75M and can increase to a maximum of $24M. He gets $14M guaranteed.

This paves the way for ILB Nick Kwiatkoski to move on in free agency.

Trevathan’s 2019 season ended with him being placed on injured reserve in December with an elbow injury.

Trevathan, 29, is a former sixth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2012. After four years in Denver, Trevathan signed a four-year, $24.5 million contract that includes $12 million guaranteed with the Bears.

Trevathan was in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2019, Trevathan appeared in nine games for the Bears and recorded 70 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and a pass defense.

We had him included in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.
