Bears Waive/Injured LB Andrew Trumbetti, Sign LS Tanner Carew

The Chicago Bears announced Thursday that they’ve signed LS Tanner Carew to a contract and waived LB Andrew Trumbetti with an injury designation.

Should Trumbetti clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Bears’ injured serve list.

Trumbetti, 22, wound up signing on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in May. He signed a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Bears and stands to make a base salary of $480,000 for the 2018 season.

During his four-year college career at Notre Dame, Trumbetti recorded 90 tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, and a pass defense over the course of 43 games.
