Bears Worked Out LB Brandon Marshall

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bears worked out free agent LB Brandon Marshall on Monday.

Marshall worked out for the 49ers a few weeks ago but left without a deal.

Marshall, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012. However, he lasted just over a year in Jacksonville before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season and later signed to the Broncos practice squad.

Denver brought Marshall back for the 2016 season on a one-year, restricted tender before eventually agreeing to a five-year, $34.553 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed. He was set to make a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2019 season when the Broncos declined his option.

From there, Marshall signed a one-year contract with the Raiders but was eventually released. He had a visit with the Texans in August of 2020 but didn’t end up signing.

In 2018, Marshall appeared in 11 games for the Broncos and recorded 42 tackles, and a pass defense.
