Bengal’s Injury Update

Things could not have gone worse for the Bengals during the first five minutes of their opening preseason game, as they suffered a number of injuries during this time. Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com provides some updates regarding these injuries.

Linebacker Rey Maualuga and defensive end Carlos Dunlap both left the game after suffering sprained knees. The two of them are certinaly key players for the Cincinnati defense, but the good news is that they should only miss a few days of practice.

Conversely, left guard Travelle Wharton appears to have a much more serious injury as he was seen on crutches following the game. There’s some concern that Wharton may have suffered a season-ending knee injury.
