Simmons is regarded as one of the top special teams coordinators in the game and just signed an extension in Cincinnati a few weeks ago.

Simmons began his NFL coaching career with the Ravens in 1998. He was later hired as the Panthers’ assistant special teams coach in 1998.

From there, the Bengals hired Simmons in 2003 and he’s remained the team’s special teams coordinator since then.

Football Outsiders have the Bengals’ special teams unit ranked No. 1 overall in 2019.
