Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah Out For Season With Torn Achilles

Update:

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed Friday that tight end C.J. Uzomah tore his Achilles and is out for the season.

You can expect the Bengals to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Thursday that TE C.J. Uzomah suffered an Achilles injury.

It was clear that this could be a significant injury for Uzomah, as he immediately went down in pain after the play and had to be carted off the field.

Uzomah, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in the 2015 draft out of Auburn. He played out the final year of his a four-year rookie contract before agreeing to a three-year, $18 million deal with the Bengals in 2019.

In 2020, Uzomah has appeared in two games and caught eight passes for 87 yards receiving and one touchdown.
