The Buffalo Bills announced the release DE Mark Anderson on Tuesday.
- Anderson will count $1.6 million against the team’s 2013 cap and another $3 million in 2014, according to Brian McIntyre.Â
Anderson, 30, signed a four-year deal worth $19.5 million, which also included $8 million guaranteed with the Bills back in 2012.
He was coming off of a great season for the Patriots and Buffalo made a concerted effort to upgrade their pass rush last offseason. Anderson played 256 snaps last season, but was rated as a well below-average 4-3 defensive end by Pro Football Focus.
The Bills will now move forward with Manny Lawson and Jerry Hughes as replacements to Anderson.
