Bills Re-Sign WR Leonard Hankerson To A One-Year Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bills have re-signed WR Leonard Hankerson to a one-year contract.

Hankerson indicated that he was signing with the Bills via his Twitter account.

Bills GM Doug Whaley mentioned recently that they were “really close” to re-signing Hankerson, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Hankerson, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Redskins back in 2011. He signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Falcons back in March of last year, but was later waived and claimed off of waivers by the Patriots.

Interestingly enough, the Patriots cut him loose after a few weeks and he was once again claimed off of waivers, this time by the Bills.

He was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the second time in as many years.

In 2015, Hankerson appeared in 10 games and recorded 26 receptions for 327 yards receiving and three touchdowns for the Falcons.
